Sites on the schedule whose names are marked with an asterisk are demographically restricted based on the specific population served by the host site; click a site’s “more details” link for specifics. Other sites are open to anyone homeless in Cambridge.
Cambridge CAN (C-CAN), our CoC’s system of Coordinated Access, officially launches operations on January 23. People who are homeless in Cambridge can complete a C-CAN intake/assessment to join the eligibility pools for Permanent Supportive Housing, Transitional Housing, and/or Rapid Re-Housing programs for which they may be prioritized; to potentially be connected to Housing Navigators that can assist with documentation readiness and housing search; and to receive a range of “soft” referrals to various needs they may have. There are three basic ways to access the system for an intake:
Central Access Point at the Multi-Service Center. The Cambridge CAN Specialist offers hours each day dedicated to availability for walk-ins, and is also able to schedule intake appointments outside of those times.
Scheduled Field-Based Access Points. These are scheduled times when C-CAN staff are available at community-based host sites to administer intake on a walk-in basis.
Mobile Access Points. C-CAN outreach staff are trained to conduct intake and assessment in the course of their daily work, and are also available to come to clients in the field who are unable to reach another form of intake.

During Launch Month (Monday, January 23 – Friday, February 17), as displayed on the calendar above, we aim to offer increased presence at Scheduled Field-Based Sites, to provide intake to as many people as possible. Additional sites are in process, and will be added to the schedule as they are confirmed. An ongoing schedule, for the foreseeable future following the Launch Month, will be determined based on demand, need, and gaps gauged during this month and will be publicized on this site once available.
