Homeless services can be thought of in two broad categories: non-residential or supportive services such as street outreach, daytime shelters, and case management; and residential services such as emergency shelters, transitional and permanent housing. Supportive services are crucial to all aspects of addressing homelessness in Cambridge. This broad category includes any non-residential service that supports persons experiencing a housing crisis or trying to maintain stability in housing.
Please note that family shelter units in Cambridge are managed by the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) through the Emergency Assistance (EA) program.
