Implementation of new Data Standards begins Wednesday, October 1st
On Wednesday, October 1st, the 2014 HUD Data Standards will go into effect. This means that all providers must begin collecting client data based on the new standards as of that date. While the Cambridge HMIS vendor is still working to migrate our data to TouchPoints and set our enterprise to the 2014 data collection template, providers should still begin collecting client information using the new standards with paper forms. In anticipation that not all vendors will have the new standards up and running, HUD has published templates of demographic, client intake and exit assessment forms. Please print and begin using them no later than October 6th. When our update does go live, you will have the correct data from these hard copy forms to enter into HMIS.
HUD has posted a short training video that provides guidance for providers and front end users on implementing the 2014 Data Standards. In addition, we have published a summary document which gives an overview of the changes from the 2010 to 2014 Standards. All Cambridge HMIS users should review both of these resources in order to be aware of data collection requirements going forward.
Further posts will provide updates on the date of migration to TouchPoints and the 2014 HMIS template in HMIS, as well as training info and materials. Please feel free to contact me with any questions that may arise as you begin to implement these new data standards. Thank you!
