Presentations from October’s HSPC Meeting

Our monthly CoC-wide Homeless Services Planning Committee meeting for October featured two informative guest presentations.

Emily Cooper, Chief Housing Officer at the state’s Executive Office of Elder Affairs, gave an overview of a number of senior-focused services, available in our jurisdction, for which many people homeless in Cambridge would be eligible for.

The Cambridge Public Health Department’s Tali Schiller, Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator, and Kristin Ward, Lead Epidemiologist, presented practical information on identifying and responding to clients who have overdosed, as well as epidemiological data that illustrate local trends in the demographics and scale of the opioid abuse epidemic.
