Prior to that change, HMIS will also undergo a major update related to how we enter data. Using the HUD Assessments and recording Efforts/Case Notes will be considered “legacy” features, and both of those functions will move into the TouchPoint format of data entry.

In coming months, HUD and partners will release additional guidance, including the HMIS final rule. These data standards will be in effect on October 1, 2014 and programmed into our HMIS no later than that date.
